Today the Zambia-bound team met at SAAS to check gear and pack donations. Here's the tally, packed into 20 suitcases (in addition to our 10 personal bags):
*22 donated laptops
*More than 200 books for Birdland Library
*20+ science or math textbooks for Munali Schools
*35 "tutorial booklets" on how to write stories, prepared by SAAS 8th graders for Birdland students
*90 pairs of school shoes for children in our "neighborhood" outside Lusaka.
*School supplies
*Gifts and materials for "Birdland Buddies" (including many stuffed animal toys donated by an 8 year old relative of one of our students)
*Letters and cards from SAAS students to "Birdland Buddies"
*And much, much more!

25 June: Meet at SAAS at 3:00 PM for airport departure
27 June: Arrival at Lusaka International Airport
Grocery shopping, settling in to Pioneer Camp.
28 - June- July 1: At The Birdland School
2 July: Depart on safari--
*July 2 - 4: Mwamba Bush Camp activities.
*July 4 - July 6: Bush camps in Kafue National Park.
*July 6 - July 9: Chobe National Park (Botswana).
*July 9 - 11: Victoria Falls, Livingstone (at Waterfront Lodge campsite).
*July 11: Return to Pioneer Camp, Lusaka.
12 - 16 July: Computer training and other activities at Munali Schools, Lusaka.
17 July: Leisure day at Pioneer Camp
18 -- 23 July: Visits to Northmead Market, more Birdland & Munali Schools visits, shoe-giveaway at Waterfalls Clinic, and visit to the Mother of Mercy Hospice.
24 July: Leisure and packing for return home, at Pioneer Camp.
25 July: Depart Lusaka International Airport, with overnight stay in London.
26 July: Arrival in Seattle.
